Campus Capacity Estimator
Put in the numbers you have and see how many students the Heritage campus can hold, and how many would need a seat somewhere else if it closed. Nothing is saved, and you can change every number.
Where these numbers come from
Every enrollment figure here is a real, published number (Heritage 335, Brougham 298, Havencroft 271, Madison Place 382) and matches two independent sources. Capacity is the one number nobody can verify: the district publishes a combined functional capacity of 16,360 across the 28 schools that would remain, but no figure for any single building. We therefore start each school at 584, the district's own average, and we have formally asked the district to publish the per-building figures. Change any number to test different assumptions.
- •The district named Brougham, Havencroft and Madison Place as the adjoining schools for Heritage students.
- •Reasons given for closing Heritage: building age and condition, ADA compliance and floor plan, and sitting on a high school campus.
- •Across the 28 elementary schools that would remain, the district puts total functional capacity at 16,360 and says 85% of that is 13,906 — an average of about 584 per school.
- •Functional capacity means the students a building can educate under the district's actual program, staffing and class-size policies — after space for support programs is set aside.
- •Class size of 21 comes from the district's own 2026-27 figures: an average of 16 K-5 teachers per building and an average building enrollment of about 340.
- •The district has not published a functional capacity number for any individual school. Until it does, every per-building capacity on this page is an estimate, including ours.

If Heritage closed
All 335 students would need a seat elsewhere. Add the schools they would be sent to and how full those schools already are.
51% full today · room for 286 more students
46% full today · room for 313 more students
65% full today · room for 202 more students
What this adds up to
- Students needing a new school: 335
- Open seats across the schools listed: 801
- Seats left over after everyone is placed: 466
- Those schools would then be 73% full — the district plans around 85% of capacity.
Seats alone do not tell the whole story. Class sizes, bus rides, and support staffing all change too — those are among the questions we have asked the district.
